Joe did a fantastic job in keeping us out in the wind and rain for two hours. He enlightened us on some of Edinburgh's classic sightseeing wisdom but kept surprising us with fringy details on Edinburgh's superstition, history and inventions. He was enthusiastic in sharing stories but kept very accessible and open for impulses and topics from the participants. We enjoyed every bit of this tour. Cheers from Switzerland!

Joe’s walking tour was AMAZING, and honestly I would ten out of ten recommend. My sister and I joined this tour with zero expectations and both absolutely fell (more) in love with the town after the tour. Joe’s charisma was infectious and his knowledge of the place was both informative, full of humour as well as historical. Informing us on local superstitions and hidden beautiful photo spots. On top of the tour he also gave us a barcode of his recommendations for food and places to visit which we found really helpful, in an overwhelming town full of options. With his inside jokes, insider tips and history of the town I would recommend this walking tour to anyone who’s visiting Edinburgh.

I was really very surprised by Joe's spectacular historical education and so were the rest of the group to the point that I suggested him changing the title of his tour to reflect the knowledge and passion he has for Edinburgh and the ability he has to accompany people through a journey in time. I was happy to see that despite us being initially a really small group, he was happy to give us a tour (not all guide do) until another couple joined later. I visit Edinburgh twice a year but I have a completely different look of the town now and I will always remember the tips amd hindsight that Joe generously shared with us. It was a top tour!!

My daughter and I really enjoyed the tour with ‘The Local Lad’. His stories were funny and memorable. Honestly, it’s worth doing this tour just to find out where lots of sayings we use today have originated from! His delivery of the information was very entertaining and he also gave us some top tips of things to do during our stay. My daughter is in her early 20s and thought it might be dry and boring but she thoroughly enjoyed it. 10/10 from us!

Joe was absolutely fantastic! I couldn't have asked for a better tour of Edinburgh's Old Town. His storytelling is 10/10 - lots of laughs and he really brings the events to life.
